TRAVERSE CITY -- Summer evenings are made for America's pastime - baseball. And the Beach Bums have some great events planned for the next few weeks.
The biggest day of the year for them is the fourth of July. They honor all veterans and servicemen. When they enter the game, they will receive a sticker saying they're military, and then fans are encouraged to shake the hands of anyone wearing a sticker. The players are wearing special stars and stripes uniforms, and they will form a tunnel for the service men and women to run through. There will also be a special extended fireworks show after the game. Tickets for the fourth are still available.
Other big events coming up - during the 16th-18th the Beach Bums will have Christmas in July (where all kids will receive a small gift) and Batman night.
July 28th will be the Beach Bums Carnival and Michigan National Guard Community Appreciation Day from 11-6. The team will be gone, but they're hoping you'll come experience a fun day at the park! There'll be games, big inflatables, a jousting ring, baseball clinics, and the National Guard is bringing their fire trucks - which will be used as fancy sprinklers! Tickets for this event are $5.
Can't make it to any of these events? No problem! The ticket office is open M-F from 10-6, and Sat 10-2 (closed on non game-day Sundays and extended hours on game days). For example, there are ticket specials on Tuesdays and Thursdays, such as 2-for-1 and $1 off fountain drinks/beer.
The Beach Bums have added some new places to eat and drink at the park, and encourage you to come out and enjoy a game!
