MANISTEE COUNTY -- A Manistee County family is starting over Friday night, after their home was destroyed by fire.
The home in Thompsonville caught fire late Friday afternoon. Three kids were home at the time, watching T-V in the living room, when they say they heard a loud "pop" from a bedroom, then the fire alarms went off.
One of the kids shut the bedroom door and they all ran outside unharmed. The family tells us a window fan caused the fire.
Between the fire, smoke, and water damage the home is a total loss. The family did not have insurance.
