TRAVERSE CITY -- Tonight one of the nation's most respected and prestigious clubs accepted nineteen new members- and four of them were women.

Women began to be inducted into the club in 1996, and this is one of the biggest groups this chapter has had. Anyone can become a member-you just need a sponsor.

The Traverse City members form Elks 323, and made up of over 1,250 members (and growing) they are the largest order in Michigan.

The women, one of them being 7&4's own president, are excited to join the club. They discussed how much it means to them to be a part of a service organization that focuses on veterans and disabled children. The Elks Club mission is to work with other organizations and members of the community serving that focus, while having fun.
