CRAWFORD COUNTY -- A nationally ranked golf club is cleaning up after a tornado swept through nearby state land.
Wednesday the National Weather Service confirmed the EF-1 tornado with winds up to 100 miles per hour touched down in Southeastern Crawford County during Monday night's storm.
The tornado only lasted two minutes but uprooted hundreds of trees. The general manager of Forest Dunes Golf Club says they're lucky to have only suffered very minor damage.
Todd Campbell says, “We’re really thankful no one got hurt, it could have been devastating.”
The initial damage occurred near the entrance of the golf club, it continued east along the Southern edge of the golf course taking down a wide path of trees near the fairway on hole five.
Forest Dunes Golf Club is open for business. There was no damage to buildings or the course, just some downed trees that are now clean up.
