NEWAYGO COUNTY, MICH. -- An 18-year-old man drowned in Woodland Lake this afternoon.

Joshua Lamont Mullens was being towed on an inner-tube behind a jet ski when he fell off of the tube and went under water. After he did not return to the surface, witnesses called the Sheriff's Office.

After an underwater search, divers located the victim shortly before 6:00 pm. Medical personnel where unable to revive the Mullens. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Mullens was wearing a life preserver, however it is believed it became dislodged as he fell from the tube.
