Lightning strike sets home in flames

BANKS TOWNSHIP -- A home was destroyed after a lightning strike set it on fire.

The house, in Banks Township of Antrim County, was struck by lightning in the center of the house. The whole house was charred and there are no remains.

The house sits on the top of a hill in Banks Township.

Central Lake Township Fire Department and East Jordan life support responded to the fire.

No one was hurt.

This was one of several weather related instances over the last couple of hours. There were reports of trees down and lightning strikes throughout the Northern Michigan area. For full weather coverage, click here to see our radar.
