LUDINGTON -- Memorial Medical Center in Ludington is preparing to break ground on it's 14.7 million dollar expansion project.

Monday, administrators from Memorial Medical Center in Ludington will gather together for a symbolic groundbreaking ceremony.  The event will take place where the new entrance and emergency department will be constructed, which is on the south side of the hospital, facing Ludington Avenue.

The renovation plans were announced back in October of 2011 and will include remodeling the hospital's surgery and emergency areas as well as creating a more visible public entrance. Outpatient services such as cardio-rehab, laboratory and medical imaging will be enhanced as well.

The expansion project should be finished at the end of 2013.
