GRAND TRAVERSE CO. -- One person was taken to the hospital after a crash involving two vehicles and a semi-truck.

It happened around 11:30am Friday at the intersection of Hammond Road and Garfield.

The Grand Traverse County Sheriff's Office said a driver of a Chevy SUV turned left in front of the semi, leaving no time for the truck driver to stop to avoid a crash.

A third vehicle, which was stopped at the traffic light was also hit during the crash.

Hammond road was shut down for about an hour while crews cleaned up the accident scene.  The driver of the Chevy SUV is being treated for minor injuries.  No one else was hurt.

The driver of the Chevy was issued a ticket for failing to yield.
