The Newaygo County Sheriff's Office reports that just after 7 pm Tuesday night,  Deputies were dispatched to 128th Street near Alger Avenue in Ashland Twp., Newaygo County for a car v. pedestrian's accident. Upon arrival to the scene, Deputies discovered that a vehicle travelling westbound on 128th street had struck three juveniles between the ages of 9-14 walking westbound on 128th Street. Two juveniles were transported via ambulance, and the third was flown by Aeromed to Spectrum Health Downtown. The driver of the vehicle was a 59 year old male from Fremont.

Alcohol does not appear to be a factor in the accident; however the incident remains under investigation. The Sheriff's Office was assisted at the scene by the Michigan State Police, LIFE EMS, and the Grant First Responders.
