Gov. Snyder lifts burn ban

Governor Rick Snyder issued a proclamation ending the outdoor burning ban in 49 counties.

The ban was imposed on May 25 due to the wildfire that destroyed more than 20,000 acres and more than 100 buildings in the Upper Peninsula.

It was determined that extreme fire hazard conditions had subsided due in part to the rainfall amounts, according to the Department of Natural Resources.

The proclamation also ended the fireworks ban in Luce and Schoolcraft counties.
