Jake-a-palooza event to benefit young boy with cancer

TRAVERSE CITY -- Traverse City Area Public Schools will be hosting "Jake-a-palooza", this Thursday.

The fundraising event is in honor of Jake Melvin, a Traverse City West Middle School student, who was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer called Histocytic Sarcoma.

The event will be held at Traverse City West Middle School and will include a spaghetti dinner, silent auction, concert, benefit run, and more.

Admission to the event is by donation. It starts at 5:00 pm on Thursday and all are welcome.
