FRANKFORT -- Our UpNorthLive Facebook fans voted to hear more about the Take a Kid Fishing event in downtown Frankfort.

The event is in it's ninth year of bringing families together over their love of fishing. The activities start with a "Nitecrawler Hunt", Friday June 22 at dusk in Mineral Springs Park in Downtown Frankfort. The fishing takes place on Saturday. There will be free food, a free t-shirt, and no entry fees or license requirements for kids. No child will be turned away, but the organizers do ask that every child has an adult accompany them.

Questions about the event can be directed to the Frankfort-Elberta area Chamber of Commerce Office, (231) 352-7251.

If you have any used fishing equipment suitable for kids that you'd like to donate, you can drop it off at the Frankfort-Elberta area Chamber of Commerce at 515 Main St., downtown Frankfort.

If you would like to help choose the news, vote in our Facebook Story of the Day segment. Each day, 3 story ideas will be posted on our UpNorthLive Facebook Fan Page. You have until 9 am the next day to vote for the story that you'd like to see air on 7&4 News at 6!
