TRAVERSE CITY -- The community joined forces Saturday to celebrate the opening of a new bicycle route in northern Michigan!

A special ribbon cutting ceremony was held this Saturday afternoon for the new U.S. Bicycle Route 35.

The route is an interconnected trail system that runs from New Buffalo in the South-West corner of the state all the way to Sault Ste. Marie.

Local planners say this trail should bring new business to the community.

The route uses part of the TART and Leelanau Trail systems and runs for more than 500 miles.
