MT. PLEASANT -- A brand new waterpark and hotel in Mt. Pleasant is looking to make a big slash, as it prepares for its upcoming grand opening.

After more than a year of construction, the Soaring Eagle Waterpark and Hotel will officially open up to the public with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on May 21st at 3:00pm.

Tuesday, the Saginaw Chippewa Indian Tribe gave 7&4 News a sneak peak of their new attraction.

The property is complete with a 45,000 square foot waterpark, 243 hotel rooms and suites, an arcade center, a restaurant and an 18-hole golf course.

Soaring Eagle officials say the concept of the waterpark and hotel is to attract a different crowd then their Mt. Pleasant casino location.

Soaring Eagle Waterpark and Hotel General Manager, Bonnie Sparague "We needed something that would create environment for families... Were trying to attract any kind of family that's looking for an affordable place, a place where they can enjoy not only a water park, but the elements of the outdoors.”

In addition to all the amenities and attractions, there are also plans for a Soaring Eagle Hideaway RV Park, just north of the golf course.
