CHEBOYGAN -- More than a month after the former Cheboygan Memorial Hospital closed its doors, the medical center is now re-opening with a brand new name and a special ribbon cutting ceremony on Monday.

The hospital will now be known as McLaren Northern Michigan Cheboygan Campus.

Last week, McLaren Health Care said Monday would also be the target date to reopen emergency services at the hospital. Surgical services are expected to begin the week of May 29th.

The Michigan Nurses Association tells 7&4 News that the organization has no confirmation on just how many employees will be rehired at the hospital but believe it will be at least 100. This could mean more than 200 employees may not get their job back.

7&4 News will be at the ribbon cutting ceremony at 10:00am Monday morning, and will bring you the latest details.
