HOMESTEAD TWP,. -- Update 3:50pm: 26 year-old Deshawn Jermaine Stanton has been charged with Open Murder in the death of this wife, Stephanie Lynne Stanton.
Stanton will be arraigned in Benzie County's 85th Judicial District Court on May 8th.
In addition to Open Murder charges, Stanton is also charged with Felony Firearm, Felon in Posession of a Firearm, and Habitual Offender Second Offense.

A suspect in a Benzie County murder is behind bars.
Stephanie Stanton, 28, was found dead Saturday at a home on Cinder Road in Homestead Township. Investigators say she had a single gunshot wound to the neck. The murder weapon was found at the scene and is at the Michigan State Police Crime Lab.
A forensic autopsy is being conducted in Grand Rapids to help with the investigation.
