MASON CO. -- UPDATE 8:30am: The power lines have been removed and U.S. 10 is back open to traffic.

Downed power lines have shut down a section of U.S. 10 in Mason County.

The power lines are across all five lanes of U.S. 10 near Amber Road just west of Scottville.  The Mason County Sheriff's Office and the power company are on scene.

West bound traffic on U.S. 10 will be diverted onto north bound Amber Road.   East bound U.S. 10 traffic will be diverted onto north bound Stiles.

U.S. 10 will be closed for an indefinite period of time.
