ANN ARBOR (AP) -- Longtime Congressman John Dingell of Michigan is kicking off his campaign for a 29th full term in office.

The 85-year-old Dearborn Democrat has rallies planned for Wednesday in Ann Arbor and the Detroit suburb of Trenton to launch his campaign for the redrawn 12th congressional district that covers part of southeast Michigan.

Dingell said last year he'd run again in 2012.

The House's longest currently serving member now represents the 15th District, but redistricting since the last election changed the state's districts.

Dingell has been in Congress since 1955.
