A Delta flight was forced to touch down in Traverse City after a small fire.
TRAVERSE CITY -- A scare Tuesday for a flight headed to Minnesota. It had to make an emergency landing in Traverse City.
According to Airport Director Kevin Klein, Delta flight 4290 head from Toronto, Canada to Saint Paul, Minnesota was forced to land just after noon at Cherry Capital Airport. Klein say the battery on a passenger's oxygen tank caught his shirt on fire causing a dime size burn on his chest.
The flight was carrying 44 passengers. Klein says there was no damage to the plane and it was cleared to take off again at 1:20 p.m. Tuesday. The passenger suffered a second degree burn on his chest, but stayed on the flight.
