GREEN LAKE TOWNSHIP, MI -- A Kingsley man is behind bars after a botched home invasion in Grand Traverse County.

Deputies said a resident on East Duck Lake Road noted suspicious activity at a seasonal dwelling across the road from his residence.  Upon the neighbor’s inspection, the neighbor saw a man inside the seasonal dwelling and knew that man did not have permission to be there.

The neighbor and the suspect became involved in a physical altercation while police were responding.  The neighbor was able to prevent the man from fleeing.

The Sheriff’s Office investigation showed the seasonal home had been forcibly entered and that the suspect had attempted to take items from the home.

The suspect was arrested and housed in the Grand Traverse County Jail on home invasion charges.  There were also two warrants out for his arrest.

The suspect, 35, apparently rode his bike to the house.
