TRAVERSE CITY -- Folks put their cooking skills to the test Saturday and stirred-up some competition for the annual Crockpot Cook-Off in Traverse City. And like every year, this friendly battle in the kitchen is all for a good cause.

Left Foot Charley Winery and NMC's Maritime Academy teamed up to host the crock-pot cook off.

This year, the event benefits 15 year-old Cody Hayes from Cedar, who was recently diagnosed with Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma and is undergoing treatment at a hospital in Grand Rapids. The money collected Saturday will be used to help the family pay for medical costs.

If you're interested in making a donation to the family, you can contact Left Foot Charley Winery at (231) 995-0500.
