Rob Gottfried uses drums to pass his message

JOHANNESBURG, MI -- Students at one area school got a special lesson today about using music to boost self-esteem.

"Rob the Drummer," a national anti-bullying spokesman, visited Johannesburg-Lewiston schools today as part of anti-bullying week.

He uses music and drums as a medium to help promote anti-bullying and the dangers of illegal substances.

He's been on Sesame Street and MTV as an advocate.

"They open up enough and the art of it then comes, can you keep them open enough so when you say something, it may go in and cause a behavioral change," says Rob Gottfried, "Rob the Drummer."

He will stop at 60 schools in the state.

He's also a "triple major" in psychology, philosophy, and music, and says this is the perfect platform to promote his message for kids to go for their dreams.

His Michigan tour is sponsored and paid for by Dr. Roger Newton and his wife Coco.  Newton is the founder of Lipitor.
