KALEVA -- The Manistee Sheriff's Department tells 7 & 4 News that they found the body of a 51-year old Earl Hendrickson in the back seat of the submerged car in Kaleva Creek.

Investigators believe the man may have hit a aluminum culvert and flipped his car into the creek. They say alcohol was a factor in the crash..

Emergency crews, including a dive team, spent several hours searching the pond.  Crews were first called to the area around 9:30am Wednesday.

The person who first saw the car in the pond and called 911, told 7&4 News they found a body inside the car.
