NORTHERN MICHIGAN -- You may have seen the stickers on the back on vehicles across the state.  It's the one with an outline of Michigan and the Great Lakes colored in blue.

Michigan entrepreneur Austin Holsinger created the business "Great Lakes Proud," which is a simple sticker to display on your car or whereever you'd like.

Holsinger has sold about 12,000 of the stickers since just last year and the proceeds help support his small business and also help protect the Great Lakes.

"A percentage of the profits go to lake-loving organizations, people, different types of organizations, businesses that do good around the lakes, or promote an active lifestyle or you know, education people on different issues," says Holsinger.

Holsinger hopes to find more retailers to sell the stickers.  They're $5 a piece.

He says his main mission from the small business is to create awareness about the importance of the Great Lakes.
