TRAVERSE CITY -- It's a look back at history and even a walk through time on Old Mission Peninsula in Traverse City.  That's because Kennard Weaver of Traverse City originally wanted to enhance the local history curriculum at two elementary schools on Old Mission.  He soon realized the task would become much more than that.

Over a span of about nine months, various people with connections to the area and also local historians agreed to meet one on one with Weaver to help bring the history of Old Mission Peninsula to life.

The video came down to 25 hours which was edited down to one hour and twenty minutes.  Weaver decided it was critical for people to realize the history behind Old Mission and why it was and still is, a relevant part of our local economy.

Final copies of the video are available in the office at Old Mission Peninsula Elementary and Easter Elementary.

To see the complete interview that aired Tuesday, March 13th on 7&4 News Today check out the video clip above.

For information about copies of the video you can contact Kennard Weaver at: ken.weavertc@gmail.com
