Two bodies believed to be Don and Jean Ingle were found in the ashes of a burned home.

BALDWIN -- Two people have died in a house fire in Lake County. The fire broke out around 3 a.m. Friday at a home on Washington Street near the corner of Cherry Street in Baldwin. Fire crews say the home was engulfed in flames when they got there.

Fire investigators think the blaze started inside the home. They say the owners were having trouble with their furnace so they were using a wood burning stove to heat the home. Investigators think that may have started the fire

The Sheriff tells 7&4 News that they believe the victims are Don and Jean Ingle. Don was a wildlife writer and photographer well known in the area. The sheriff says Ingle wrote positive articles about Northern Michigan and its beauty. His wife Jean worked for the Lake County court system.

Autopsies are being done on the victims and dental records are being checked to confirm their identities.
