Mecosta County is investigating the death of an elderly man whose body was found near is abandon car Saturday.
Investigators say the man was reported missing Friday when he failed to return home after leaving a relative's home in Clare County.
Deputies conducted a search in Mecosta and Osceola counties and were able to track the missing man's cell phone.
The man's car was found in a driveway in Mecosta County and a K-9 unit found the body a short distance away from the car.
The cause of death is unknown pending the results of an autopsy. The name of the man is not being released.
