The violin is nearly 300 years old and worth $20,000.
TRAVERSE CITY -- UPDATE: Two people turned in the two stolen violins to the Traverse City Police Department around 12:30pm Monday.
The individuals told Detectives they realized the violins they had were stolen after reading online media reports. Police are interviewing the people to determine if they had a role in the theft.
The violins were not damaged.

The search is on for the person who broke into a Traverse City home, taking several valuables including a violin manufactured in 1720.
The home targeted in the crime is on the 600 block of West Sixth Street.
Traverse City Police say the homeowners left for a brief time Friday evening and when they returned they found the glass on the back door shattered.
Stolen from the home were two violins. One of the violins is nearly 300 years old, The violin and bow were contained in a Rectangular Red Case with a Zipper and is valued at more than $20,000. Other items taken included a camcorder, Jewelry, and Award Medals with Silver and Blue Ribbons.
In the process of breaking into the home, the person cut themselves and should have large lacerations.The suspect was on foot at the time of the break-in.
