Bystanders hold thief until police arrive

ALPENA -- An Alpena man is behind bars, accused of breaking into a business and being in possession of a large amount of synthetic marijuana.

The Alpena Police Department was called to Concert connection Sunday around 10:30pm for a Breaking and Entering in progress.  While in route to the call, Central Dispatch told the officers the suspect was being held down outside the store by a group of bystanders.

When police arrived the 21-year-old was arrested.  Police say they found more than $1,000. worth of synthetic marijuana on the man. 

He faces a 10-year felony charge of breaking and entering with intent to commit a larceny.
