LEROY -- The bank robbery suspects described as armed and dangerous by police are now behind bars.
The Citizens Bank on Mackinaw Trail in Leroy was robbed Wednesday afternoon. One man was carrying a long gun, the other had a knife. After getting money from the tellers, the men allegedly stole one of the employees cars to get away.
Late Thursday night, the two suspects were arrested. Officials credit the cooperative efforts of the Michigan State Police, the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office, the Lake County Sheriff’s Office and the Federal Bureau of Investigation for the quick and safe resolution.
The suspects are Osceola County residents. They are being held on Armed Robbery, Unlawful Driving Away of an Automobile and Felony Firearms charges.
