MESICK, MI -- Thursday, 7&4 News concludes our series "Teachers You Should Meet."

Joe Fitzpatrick is a physical education teacher at Mesick Consolidated Schools in Wexford County. He is also a certified archery instructor. Now he is combining his talents and giving kids an early shot a bow-and-arrow.

“Archery seems to level the playing field…usually the boys want to dominate P-E classes but the girls seem to be better at times on their focus and aim,” said Fitzpatrick.

School leaders said their archery program is made possible by community support and help form the DNR.
