GRAYLING -- UpNorthLive's Facebook fans voted to hear more about a workshop to teach others how their touch can be healing.

Mercy Hospital in Grayling is offering the classes in Healing Touch, which health experts say influences the human energy field to enhance healing and well-being.

Developed by nurses more than 25 years ago, Healing Touch continues to grow in use and applications.  Healing Touch is also used by body therapists, counselors, psychotherapists or other licensed health care professionals.  People who are not health care professionals are also welcome, and may find Healing Touch beneficial for their families, friends and even pets.

This program is a Level 1 coures that offers 16 continuing education contact hours and can lead toward a certification of completion in Healing Touch.

People interested in learning more about the body's energy system and how to access it are invited to register for two days of studies at the hospital on Sat. March 17 and Sun. March 18.  Classes will take place from 8am to 6pm.

Cost of the class is $365 for the public and $225 for full-time students.  You need to register by March 1 for a special price of $340.  To register, or get more information, call Marian Long at 989-348-0428 or email longmm@trinity-health.org.
