TRAVERSE CITY -- Some brave volunteers teamed up with Detroit Lions Quarterback Drew Stanton for Traverse City's ice cold Polar Plunge on Saturday.

Stanton, along with hundreds of brave plungers, jumped into the chilly waters of the Bear Lake Golf Course Pond at the Grand Traverse Resort.

Dressed in some wacky costumes, these folks were all about letting loose and having fun -- to support a great cause. All the money raised Saturday goes to support Special Olympics Michigan athletes, which Stanton says is a cause dear to his heart.

This is just one of 27 polar plunges going on in Michigan from January until March 2012. For a full list of plunges and to find out how you can get involved CLICK HERE.
