Accused sex crime teacher to waive preliminary hearing

A Former Traverse City public School teacher and coach accused of a sex crime against a student is expected to waive her preliminary hearing.

Lisa Placek is charged with first degree criminal sexual conduct for an alleged sexual act said to have happened off school grounds during Christmas break.

Placek taught Language Arts and French at TCAPS since 1999.

She also coached volleyball.

According to the court clerk Placek plans to officially waive her preliminary hearing on Friday

She is being held without bond.
