LEELANAU COUNTY -- Leelanau County officials may have found their man. In a special meeting Tuesday, Leelanau County commissioners decided to offer the county administrator job to Chet Janik.

Janik is currently the superintendent of Charlevoix Public Schools. Terms of the offer, including how much he would be paid, still have to be worked out - so this is not set in stone just yet. 7&4 News has calls out to members of the school board to find out what they would do if Janik leaves. Janik told 7&4 news that he is considering the offer.

The Leelanau County administrator job opened up in October when former administrator Eric Cline resigned during a closed door session about his job performance. At the time Commissioner Tom Van Pelt called it a mutual parting of ways. Cline, whose annual salary was $68,000 a year, was hired in 2009.
