MANISTEE -- Michigan State Police say with the help of the community, they have arrested an armed robber, believed to be responsible for a rash of robberies and break-ins in Manistee.
Sheriff deputies are not releasing his picture yet, but tell 7&4 News that 29 year-old James Michael Parrinello was arraigned Sunday, on several charges, including armed robbery at the Admiral Tobacco Store, off of US-31 in Manistee.
Police arrested the suspect on Saturday after detectives got a tip that he was driving his van, and possibly had the handgun -- used in the robberies -- in his possession.
After pulling Parrinello over and searching the van, the loaded hand gun was found and he was arrested.
Police believe Parrinello is also behind the recent robberies at the A&W and Little Caesar's Pizza in Manistee. They are working on filing more charges against him.
