LAKE CITY -- More than 50 people took a dip in the chilly waters of Lake City Saturday and helped to raise thousands of dollars for Special Olympics Michigan.

Dressed in their craziest costumes, dozens of brave volunteers were "freezin' for a reason" for the Lake City Polar Plunge, which was held at the Town Pump Saloon.

Organizers say they raised about $13,500 dollars Saturday.

Traverse City's Polar Plunge is set for February 11th at 10am at the Grand Traverse Resort and Spa's clubhouse and pond. Detroit Lions Quarter Back Drew Station is expected to take part in that one.
