A plane was diverted to Cherry Capital Airport Friday as airport controllers worried it might not be able to land.
TRAVERSE CITY -- A scare tonight at Cherry Capital Airport. A Delta flight was on its way from Toronto to Minneapolis around 5 p.m. Friday when it was diverted to Traverse City with mechanical problems.
Police, fire crews and ambulances were dispatched to the area and a section of Garfield Avenue was shut down as the plane made its approach. After some tense minutes, the plane did touch down safely and no injuries were reported.
