TRAVERSE CITY -- The National Writers Series in Traverse City is planning its new year of author visits.

The NWS team announced the 2012 lineup of author visits and book picks Tuesday.   An evening with Vince Gilligan will take place February 4. Vince is the creator of the highly acclaimed television series "Breaking Bad"  Find out what its really like behind the scenes!

Popular author Jodi Picoult will also take center stage at the City Opera House.  Author of "My Sisters Keeper" and more than  dozen other blockbuster novels will be in Traverse City on March 12. Jodi will be joined by guest host Paula McLain, a previous NWS guest and New York Times best-selling author of critically acclaimed The Paris Wife.

Alan Cheuse, National Public Radio's "Voice of Books"with special guest Geraldine Brooks, Pulitzer Prize-winning author of "March" will be in Traverse City on April 5.

Michael Sandel will take center stage on May 2. An Evening with Anna Quindlen will take place May 14.  On June 21 Natalie Bakopoulos will be in Traverse City.
