OTSEGO CO., MI -- Tonight authorities are searching for a 60 year-old Otsego County man who has been missing since late December.

Police say the man is from Vanderbilt and enjoys camping and hiking during the winter, but now his family is concerned because he's been missing since December 29th.

The man missing is identified as 60 year-old Gale Sproule.

Police believe he may be lost in the Pigeon River Forest east of Vanderbilt.

Sproule's vehicle was found on a powerline two-track road on January 6th.

Tuesday, Department of Natural Resources Conservation Officers and State Police K-9's searched for Sproule.

Police tell us they may also search from the air.

"We found his car out in the Pigeon, whether or not a friend picked him up from there we don't know, or maybe he's out there, camping somewhere deep in the Pigeon River Forest, but it's a vast, wooded area, so we do have to take precautions," says Sgt. Jeff Gorno of Michigan State Police Gaylord post.

Police say right now there isn't any indication of foul play.

If you know where he might be, you're asked to call authorities.
