Severely neglected horses euthanized

GRAND TRAVERSE CO. -- Two horses have been euthanized after being severely neglected in Grand Traverse County.

The Grand Traverse County Sheriff's Office is currently investigating a Fife Lake Township woman for the neglect of horses. The Prosecutor's Office has authorized charges of Neglect of Animals.

Two of the horses owned by the woman had to be euthanized and the remaining horses with the cooperation of the owner were placed with a horse rescue organizations.

The case is still under investigation.
