WEXFORD COUNTY -- A man was rescued by helicopter from the cold waters of Lake Cadillac Saturday.

Wexford County Sheriff's Office says John Smith, from Cadillac, was sailing his ice boat on Lake Cadillac when it accidently entered open water, near the middle of the lake.

Fortunately, William Paul from Cadillac was flying in his helicopter at the time and witnessed the events take place.

Paul was able to hover the aircraft above Smith, who held onto the ski of the helicopter and was brought to shore.

No one was injured in the incident.
