US Supreme Court asked to ponder drug dog sniff

TRAVERSE CITY -- Law enforcement officials across northern Michigan use drug dogs to help fight crime, but is a sniff outside a home legal or does it invade your privacy? A case in Florida says it does.

A drug dog sniffed the front door of a Miami home and detected marijuana so police officers got a warrant and busted the homeowner.

Now the U.S. Supreme Court could decide if that action violated 4th Amendment rights against illegal search and seizure.
