SHELBY -- An Oceana County school Superintendent is on paid leave while a Michigan State Police investigation continues.

Shelby Public Schools Superintendent Scott Lund was placed on leave Dec. 8.  School board members hired Mike Matlosz as interim Superintendent to take over Lund's duties.

School officials aren't saying why Lund was placed on leave but did say no students or other school employees were involved.  State Police told 7&4 News the investigation is ongoing but also would not give any other details.

The Shelby School Board will meet Monday, Dec. 19 at 7:30pm, but the police investigation is not on the agenda for discussion.
