MACKINAC COUNTY -- A Mackinac County driver is facing charges for hitting a man walking on the side of the road and driving away.

Travis McLean told police he was walking on the side of M-123 in Mackinac County in August when he was hit.  McLean told police after he was hit by the car, the driver got out of the vehicle, looked at him lying on the ground, and then sped away.

A tip, along with car parts left at the scene helped track down the suspect.

Four months after the hit and run, an arrest has been made.  Michigan State Police took a 46-year-old Moran woman into custody Tuesday.  The woman told police she thought she hit a deer.

The woman posted a $500.00 bond.  She will be back in court on December 21.
