Dozens of jobs up for grabs
GRAWN -- A Traverse City fruit processor is picking new employees to help with increased business its getting from a French applesauce company.
Interviews are underway to hire more than 70 employees at Cherry Growers Inc. in Grawn. A few months ago the fruit processor obtained almost $9 million dollars in local financing to renovate its plant.
Its now able to house the first US production site for Materne's GoGo SqeeZ, an all natural applesauce filled pouch sold in Walmart and Whole Food stores.
The Traverse Area Chamber of Commerce says the new partnership comes at a time when job creation is vital.
These jobs pay between $12 and $20 dollars an hour plus benefits.
