The Goodwill Holiday needs program is also seeking donations to help the less fortunate and make sure that no child is forgotten this Christmas.
Goodwill has partnered with the Department of Human Services, Toys for Tots and other community organizations to collect new gift items to distribute to those in need.
Ruth Blick the Director of Marketing is excited about this very unique program, "one of the things that's a little bit different about the holiday needs program, we actually set up a temporary storefront. So that the people coming in to get items for their kids shop with a volunteer and pick our items that are most appropriate for their kids then they give them to their families for Christmas. So it does create a great holiday season for families in need this time of year."
If you'd like to help, you can drop your donation off at the goodwill retail store in Traverse City or the Radio Shack on Saint Josephs Street in Suttons Bay.
Items needed are teen gifts, blankets, arts and crafts, socks, baby items, books, pajama bottoms, cold weather gear and more.
