Police have four suspects in custody

MANISTEE -- Manistee Police say a postal worker was shot and several vehicles damaged when suspects fired shots from the second floor of a building at 27 Clay Street near the downtown Post Office.

Police say the postal worker, a 50 year old female was treated and released from west Shore Medical Center.

Officers responding to the scene say they quickly determined the shots were coming from an upstairs apartment at 27 Clay Street and arrested the four individuals inside.

The suspects in custody include two adults and two juveniles.

Police say physical evidence collected suggest the weapon used was a long gun believed to be a pellet gun.

Postal inspectors will join the investigation

Violence against a postal worker is a federal felony.
