TRAVERSE CITY, MI -- The Black Friday morning blitz is now behind us.

This year, shoppers were able to get an early start.

Target opened their doors to customers at Midnight.

"We believe it exceeded expectations. We could tell by the number of people and the number of crowds we had out there...seemed much higher than last year," said store manger Rick Bontekoe.

Some stores stuck to tradition. Meijer is open 24 hours but waited until 4 a.m. to release their Black Friday bargains.

"Well it was an outstanding morning...a lot of stores released their deals from 10 p.m. to 12 a.m. and we released our adds at 4 a.m. So the customers were out all night long...we were busy from 12 a.m. to 7 a.m.," said store director John Spaulding.
