PETOSKEY, MI -- An Emmet County woman is charged tonight with embezzling thousands of dollars from a Petoskey Animal Hospital over a three year span.

53 year-old Pamela Ann Lauer is facing felonies for embezzling and using a computer to commit a crime.

Michigan State Police say between $16,000 and $26,000 dollars were stolen from Jensen's Animal Hospital over the span.  Lauer is accused of using a computer to manipulate payments and commit the crimes.  Owners of the hospital alerted MSP Detectives once a computer program noticed the wrongdoings.

Detectives say it's important to note clients of the hospital were not overcharged and their information was not compromised while the crimes were committed.

Lauer turned herself into police on November 21st.

Lauer is due in District Court on December 8th in Petoskey and is currently released on a $1,000 bond.
